So often someone will call me complaining of very severe pain in the stomach/abdomen region. Sometimes this can be extremely sharp and incapacitating.
Has this ever happened to you?
You feel like maybe this is a Medical Emergency! You run to the medicine cabinet and maybe take a tylenol or advil to relieve the pain but to no avail. (These over the counter drugs may even make the pains worse.)
What do you do now?
Oh, I got it.
Call Dr. Miller. He'd know.
Well, here it is:
Just last nite a patient called me thinking she might be having an ectopic pregnancy and was contemplating going to the ER. (Emergency Room) After a few questions I told her to take a towel and soak it in cold water. Wring it out and place it over the the pain in the abdomen. When the towel gets warm, soak it again in the cold water and place over the painful part. After about 5-10 minutes the pain should be gone.
That is if it is intestinal gas!~
Many times intestinal gas can be very painful and can lead you on to thinking that the problem is very serious.
If this does not work, then you need to have it checked out by you MD.
But if it does work, then you'll really thank me.
Have a Great Week.
Until next time...
